After we’ve set all DNS records, we need to take a couple of more precautions to make sure that our email outreach is perfect from the technical side.
7.1. Add Emails to Sales Engagement Tool
Now, it’s time to add & connect your emails to Sales Engagement Tool in just a few clicks. Here’s the step-by-step guide 👇
- Go to your Settings > Email settings.
- Then, click on the Add button. You’ll get this pop-up immediately.
- Choose your email provider and the email account you’d like to add. You can even use Custom connection templates if you want to Connect to Gmail or Outlook via custom SMTP or some other email provider. Make sure to give all permissions to your email provider and continue. You’ll be redirected back to Sales Engagement Tool, and the new email will be listed under your Email accounts.
💡 Pro tip 1: Set up a different signature for each email account you add. This will add up to personalization and better deliverability.
💡 Pro tip 2: Set your Campaign settings for optimal outreach with Sales Engagement Tool. We recommend setting your Daily campaign limit to 30 and the minimum waiting time to be 5-10 minutes.
7.2. Connect a Custom Tracking Domain ↔️
A custom tracking domain is important because it makes your email links look more professional and helps build trust with your prospects. Plus, it improves deliverability by aligning your links with your brand, which email servers like.
Here’s how it works: when you send an email with links (like in cold outreach), tracking those links often uses a generic domain from your email platform, which can look spammy to both recipients and email providers. By setting up a custom tracking domain, you replace that generic link with one that uses your domain. This keeps everything branded and trustworthy, which means better chances of your emails landing in the inbox.
So, a custom tracking domain is like putting your brand’s stamp on all your email links, showing both prospects and email servers that everything is legit and professional.
In Sales Engagement Tool, you can set it up in the same place as the Signature and Campaign settings. 🔽
Here’s how to set it up with your domain provider:
- Go to the same place as for all other records that you’ve set prior (SPF, MX, DMARC, DKIM) and Add new record.
- This time, under record type in the dropdown menu, find CNAME, and paste the details provided in Sales Engagement Tool’s Custom tracking domain settings.
- Since we’re creating a subdomain, you need to use the prefix you’ve created (e.g., track, click, go, etc.) and paste it into Sales Engagement Tool under the Your subdomain field.
- Click on Verify, and you’re done. It can take a bit of time to set it up completely.
Pro tip: You can use the bulk edit option in Sales Engagement Tool to make uniform changes to all email accounts. ✨
