Prepare your email account for outreach with Sales Engagement Tool
To make the most out of your cold email outreach and get the results you want, there’s an absolutely critical part you need to do before you begin - technical email setup. For that reason, we’ve built this step-by-step guide to help you set a strong foundation for successful outreach on all parts.
Here’s what we’ll cover:
🔔 While you can navigate directly to any level from this overview, we recommend following each level step-by-step to make sure you set up your email outreach effectively.
Level 1:
- Choose your hosting platform 🌐 - GoDaddy, Namecheap, and Cloudflare are top choices for buying a high-quality domain name.
- Create an account 🔒: Sign up on your hosting platform of choice and secure a plan with your credit card.
- Check blacklist status before buying a domain: It’s important to find out if the domain is blacklisted - use MXToolbox to find out.
- Buy a domain 🛒 - Log in to your hosting platform, head to the domain section, and purchase one. Remember: For cold outreach, it's better to have a different domain than your main one.
Level 2:
- Set up domain forwarding 🔀 - You want all of your emails from purchased domains to be forwarded to your main one.
Level 3:
- Choose your email provider 📧 - Stick with reliable choices like Gmail and Outlook because they have the best deliverability.
- Create a workspace 🏢 - It’s crucial that you set up a brand new workspace because, as we’ve said, it should be separate from your main domain for safety reasons. For added security, attach 10-15 domains to this new workspace.
Level 4:
- Verify your domain & set MX records 🧾
Level 5:
- Create email accounts 📥- Create up to three email accounts per domain within your workspace using real names.
Level 6:
- Set up your DNS records 🔧 - Set up your SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records as per your hosting platform’s guidelines.
Level 7:
- Connect your emails through Sales Engagement Tool 🔗 - Add the accounts you’ve created to Sales Engagement Tool with a one-click sign-in for Gmail/Outlook. Now, set sender names, campaign limits, and waiting times.
- Set up a Custom Tracking Domain 🌍 - In your DNS settings, create a CNAME record for a subdomain (like track.yourdomain.com) and verify it in Sales Engagement Tool.
- Bulk edit for multiple emails ✨ - Use Sales Engagement Tool’s bulk edit feature for uniform settings across multiple email accounts.
Level 8:
- Enable email warm-up 🔥 - Lastly, for an added layer of safety, enable Sales Engagement Tool’s Infinite Email warm-up in Account settings for all emails connected to your Sales Engagement Tool account.
That said, let’s move on to Level 1 of your email outreach setup.
